The Chiropractic Wellness Studio may be able to offer Direct Billing to a patient’s PRIMARY insurance plan. Submissions to additional insurance plans and/or Health Spending accounts will be the sole responsibility of each patient.

We DO NOT have a WCB contract so cannot treat patients whose injury is related to a workplace accident.

Dr. Tina Bartel-Nickel Registration # 2348
Dr. Tina Bartel Nickel graduated in 2020 from the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at University of Western States (UWS) in Portland, Oregon with cum laude distinction. Prior to studying chiropractic, she received a Bachelor of Science in Human biology at UWS (2018), and a Bachelor of Science in biological and physical sciences (2016) at the University of Alberta. Dr. Tina is trained in Diversified chiropractic spinal manipulation and enjoys incorporating other techniques into her practice including myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, cupping, and rehabilitative exercises. Her skills and emphasis on evidence-informed care enable her to treat a diverse patient population and a wide array of conditions.
When not working at the clinic, Dr. Tina is an avid outdoor adventurer and spends her time hiking, camping and skiing. She also plays competitive soccer and is working on becoming a certified yoga instructor.
Dr. Tina enjoys working with all patients from children to adults to seniors. She works with each patient to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to their needs. No matter who you are, Dr. Tina strives to get you out of pain and keep you moving so you can continue to do what you love.

Dr. Hannah Brace Registration # 2056
Dr. Hannah moved to Canada and began working at The Chiropractic Wellness Studio in 2016. She received her undergraduate degree at The University of Northern Iowa majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer in Davenport, Iowa. She has a special interest in caring for women during their pregnancy but enjoys treating patients of all ages.
In Hannah’s spare time, you can find her hiking with her spouse, David, and spending time with their fur-babies, Oliver and Tucker. She enjoys playing Fantasy Football and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Dr. Dawn Burt Registration # 1854
Dr. Dawn received her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Toronto in 2007. She went on to complete her Doctor of Chiropractic at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Clinic Honours in 2012.
Dr. Dawn is a life-long learner who enjoys acquiring new knowledge and skills to help her patients. She is trained in Diversified Chiropractic Spinal Manipulation. She has attained certification in Graston Technique, Kinesiotaping, Shockwave therapy and Functional Dry Needling. Having suffered from headaches for many years herself, Dr. Dawn has a special interest in diagnosing and treating headaches and neck pain disorders. She has been a guest speaker that the Running Room and enjoys working with runners and other athletes of all levels and helping them work towards their unique goals. She also has a specialist interest in treating patients with chronic pain and in 2025 she completed a graduate certificate program in Pain Management and Rehabilitation at University of Alberta with emphasis on the management of chronic pain conditions. Her unique skill set and emphasis on evidence-based care helps her to effectively treat a diverse patient population and a wide array of neuromusculosketetal conditions affecting the spine and extremities.
When she is not helping her patients, Dr. Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and their daughter Maddie. Dr. Sheena Clifton Registration # 1851
Dr. Sheena grew up in nearby Fort Saskatchewan. As a regular chiropractic patient throughout childhood she personally experienced its benefits when her headaches and neck pain were successfully treated. Her interest in chiropractic grew over time with an increased understanding of the wide array of conditions treated. With her interest peaked, and a desire for a career that allowed her to help people, she started her path towards chiropractic. She began her education at the University of Alberta, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with a Specialization in Psychology in 2007. She then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in Toronto at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Clinic Honours in 2012.
She is trained in Diversified Spinal Manipulation, soft tissue techniques including GRASTON Technique, and Kinesiotaping. She uses a combination of these techniques to treat a variety of neck, back and extremity conditions, always ensuring she is working within the comfort level of her patients.

Dr. Nikolas Helfrich Registration # 2801
Dr. Nikolas Helfrich has a wholistic evidence-based approach to chiropractic care. He believes that patient care should be centered around the patient’s individualized goals and care needs. Dr. Nik takes an N=1 approach to care, meaning that each patient deserves individualistic care and a uniquely tailored care plan. Additionally, he aims to focus on addressing the root of the problem, rather than simply treating patient symptoms.
Dr. Nik incorporates many different treatment approaches, such as chiropractic adjusting (diversified, drop piece and activator), soft tissue therapies (Graston and manual release technique), stretching and at home exercise programs.
Dr. Nik is a Sherwood Park local. He went to the University of Alberta where he completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree, obtaining honours. He then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for three and a half years to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). Dr. Nik graduated from NWHSU with Summa Cum Laude, the highest educational distinction.
While attending NWHSU, Dr. Nik was a member of many clubs, most notably: motion palpation institute (MPI) and rehab to performance clubs. He also has attended many seminars throughout his schooling. These include Graston Technique, MPI full spine adjusting, MPI adjust-a-thon, Rehab to performance seminars, and the Professional Football Chiropractic Seminar.
Dr. Nik found a love for pickleball while attending NWHSU, becoming the President of the pickleball club. Dr. Nik grew the pickleball club into the largest and most attended club at NWHSU. He hosted numerous club events including “teachers vs students’ night” which had over 100 student and faculty attendees.
When he’s out of the office, Dr. Nik enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing pickleball and golf, weight training, reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, playing video games, watching TV shows/movies, and rooting for his favourite sports teams (Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Vikings).

Dr. James Riley Registration # 2242
Dr. James grew up in nearby Sherwood Park, where he lived an active childhood, playing as many sports and activities as he could. In high school, he narrowed his focus on football and track & field, which led him to play in the CJFL for the Vancouver Island Raiders football team after high school. While playing for the Raiders, he attended Vancouver Island University, where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education. Through numerous injuries, he was introduced to chiropractic care, which helped him recover and stay on the field. These experiences, combined with an internship at a local clinic, sparked Dr. James’ passion for the profession. This sent him across the country to Toronto, to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2019.
Having been active all his life and treated by various health and wellness practitioners, Dr. James has a passion for helping others achieve their optimal health and performance. Movement has been a big part of his life and Dr. James brings that perspective to his treatment plans. James has a strong interest in treating golfers, having completed the Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 & 2 medical certifications. The principles of movement analysis can be translated to all sports, as well as in optimizing movement for general activities of daily life. Dr. James has found that a combination of Acupuncture combined with spinal manipulation, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy, and functional rehab exercises work well to help his patients to feel better and to move more freely. When not working with his patients, Dr. James can be found on the golf course, coaching high school football for the Bev Facey Falcons, or searching for a dog to pet.

Dr. Jessica Williams Registration # 2129
Dr. Jessica is no stranger to The Chiropractic Wellness Studio. She was initially a patient, then a member of the front desk staff and these experiences inspired her to pursue a career in Chiropractic. She has studied both in Canada and the United States. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University receiving a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biological Sciences.
Dr. Jessica has experience and enjoys working with patients of all ages and stages. She is Webster Technique certified and has also attended seminars on Craniosacral Therapy for young patients, McKenzie Method for disc-related spinal pain, tongue-tie assessments and care as well as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy.
Her time in Portland, Oregon allowed her to find a connection with a more holistic and natural lifestyle. She enjoys cooking, hiking, travelling to destinations with beaches and mountains and adventures that take her off the beaten path. Dr. Jessica is thrilled to have returned to the studio which inspired her career choice.
